Got my M16 papers the other day,57 days. It is an M16 with an A1 upper. It has the one piece stock with a long buffer. I also bought a nice 9mm Colt upper to go with it. Works semi ok; few problems with Uzi mags. (Using a VM-Hitech block) Think I need some Wolff springs for the mags. I wanted to put on a collapsible stock. The long heavy buffer is too long for the tube; cant cycle the action. I am a little leary of using the light short buffer that came with the telescoping stock. Should I be leary? Where can I get a short heavy buffer or is that what I need? As you can see I am new to black rifles. |

For full-auto use with the CAR tube/stock, at a minimum you will need to use the "9mm" buffer.... It weighs just slightly more than the "rifle" buffer... rifle buffer is 5.2oz, and "9mm" is approx 5.6oz. That shold keep you out of trouble. I took my upper and put it on a borrowed M16, his has the std rifle stock, same as my SBR, it ran fine. You can get all kinds of "rate reducers", and heavier weighted buffers to tailor to your liking.
