I am going to buy the 9mm cmmg upper with the dd 12" lite rail I am going to build the lower from a parts kit so as far as i understand i only need a different hammer and a 9mm buffer. as far as the adapter I am confused as hell after reading the FAQ I guess I am a little slow. I would like to use an adapter that will fit into the mag well like the RRA setup but will accept sten mags if possible... where can i find this for sale if it is even made? I cant use the uzi mags since they are "designed for handguns" and over 10 rds. please let me know if there is anything else i should know this will be my 5th AR but my first 9mm and i get the feeling i am missing something like will any buffer tube do etc. -Mike |

OK, SNS Industries makes that mag block that uses sten mags in the colt style, you just need the ejector sold for $8 at RRA. It is about half way down on THIS PAGE. You will need to cut out a notch in the sten mags to latch. Don't worry, sounds like you have it pretty well covered and thought out. The only other possibility is that you might want to get the carrier ramped. Then, I think you could use a normal hammer w/ rounded top. Also, if you have problems getting mags, I have started cutting stens down for ban states. |
do you do standard capacity mags? only pistol mags are restricted in this state which is why i want to use sten mags so i can have normal capacity send me a pm with prices edit. more confused than i thought: is the cmmg upper a colt/rra style or a olympic style and will the cmmg upper and bolt assy come with the ejector I am going to need? thanks for the help sorry about the noob questions I dont even know anyone with a pistol cal ar so this is all new to me is there a build walkthrough for the 9mm that i could take a look at to avoid any more bad questions -Mike |
No, you do not need the FSB. Same kit as every other AR. Unless you deceide to use a 9mm hammer, then only the hammer is different. |
Remember, the FSB: 1. Allows you to have a front sight, and 2. Holds the front handguard cap in place. |
i will bu using the DD lite rail which doesnt have a handguard cap and a pri front sight that goes on the rail, I just ordered everything tonight -Mike |
