Are 9mm uppers dedicated? Or can I just take my A1 slabside upper, attach the 9mm ejection port and case deflector, and be ready to roll? (I know it needs a 9mm bbl and bolt) If the above is true, how do I attached the case deflector? |
All the upper does is hold the barrel, irregardless of caliber, and provide a runway for the bolt.  Just put the 9mm barrel into whatever spare upper you wish to use, and enjoy it. The misc gas deflect and door parts are not operation related, more of decoration than anything else, unless you is a left hand shooter. The shells on a COLT pattern system will leave at a forward -slight angle upward path to approx 6-8 feet from rifle.
