I was looking at the A1 buffer. for some reason, it looks really long. Maybe just because I have been shooting my carbines (A2s are in back of safe)? Are the A1 and A2 buffers the same? I want to shoot mainly 55-64 grain ammo. Would I have a problem running the heavier grain ammo with the A1 buffer? I plan on getting a 1/7" twist barrel.

rifle length buffers are all the same length (a1/a2).  you shouldn't have a problem with that buffer with the ammo you listed.

No difference from my experience.  It is possible to seem some variation between manufacturers. Any issues and I'd look at the spring first because there's some junk out there. Have fun.
