While I'm not new to AR's I've owned several going back the early 90's, but this is the first A1 receiver I've owned and I was wondering if I could get a few questions answered by those who know.
First, is the A1 Rear Sight aperture interchangeable with the A2 aperture and does anyone have diasembly instructions? While diagrams I've looked at make the A1 sight look like a snap to take apart I don't want to parts flying all over the place. Two, Are there any advantages to an A1 Round Front Sight versus the square A2? And How much change in elevation in inches is each click on the A1 Round Post since there are 5 rather than 4 detent stops cut in A1 Post? Thank you! |

Yes you can swap the rear, however you will reduce your available windage by doing so............but if your rear is centered now it would not matter anyway. If your rear now is way to one side in order to zero, you may not be able with a A2 rear due to the size difference.
Look at some of the posted TM's on this site and read about the proper assy of this weapon. The A2 front sight post is not tapered and is flat sided allowing better sight picture. |
