Just put an A1 length stock on my m4 and now I am hearing spring noise after each shot.  Haven't ever noticed this with any of my carbine length telestocks and this is the first I have shot with a fixed a1 or a2 stock.  Would this noise be considered normal??

Thanks

Well I just purchsed a Wolf Extra Power buffer spring along with some other goodies I needed.  I'll see if it makes any difference.  I heard that you can also put some heavy grease like axle grease and that will quite it down some.  Either way I am sure I'll get used to it over time.

The “sproing” the AR or M16 series of rifles make is perfectly normal, and as mentioned, varies from rifle to rifle. I personally would not invest too much time or money trying to eliminate the buffer spring noise. Your best bet is to lightly lube the buffer spring with CLP and drive on.

I have been meaning to try one of the Wolf springs for a while so this seems like a good excuse to me.  Probably won't make a difference but you never know.

Yes this is true.  It doesn't really have to be a heavy grease, and only a VERY thin coat is needed, if you could call it a coat at all.  You can try it out and see how you like it, and if you don't like it, then just spray it out with carb or brake cleaner and you will be back to where you started, no harm, no foul.
