Finally got around to shooting my IDF clone rifle the other day. The previous owner of the upper (DPMS brand) had already put the A2 sight aperture on it. Wouldn't get zeroed, still needed to go to the left. Switched it out for an A1 I had, got closer but still off by 2 inches.

Is there something I'm missing in the installation process of the rear sight? This is my first A1 build, and I really love the rifle set up even though I have yet to zero it. The specs are
-Aero Precision lower
-Dpms C7 upper
-Dpms 16" lightweight barrel
-PSA lpk
-PSA bcg

Usually when you cant get the windage its due to a canted front sight.  Doesnt take much.

If the gas block / front sight is pinned, I have no idea.  (never had a pinned one before)

If its just a clamp or set screw it just needs to be loosened and re-torqued after a minor adjustment.

Yes, depending on which way it is canted you can either add a shim or use a file to remove material from either the index pin in the barrel or the notch in the upper receiver that the index pin goes into.

Yes.  I had a pencil barrel with a severely canted front sight.  I cut the front sight post off and put a red dot on a flat top receiver I installed.  Lightweight, no irons, red dot, and also.........lightweight.  Fun plinker.  I know, now what you want, but it is a solution.

They haven't them for over two years.

I keep checking because I want one. In fact I don't think they even list them anymore, at least I couldn't find it the last time I looked.
