[ARCHIVED THREAD] - A1 upper question

I have a stripped A1 upper with raised sight letters and a round forward assist.
I kow the round F/A is incorrect but where would I find the port cover and the A1 sights?
And is it supposed to look like matte black or is that really a dark gray?

Does it have a brass deflector?

No brass deflector, it's like the ones we had back in the 70's when I was a young Marine.

Del-ton has the parts kits the cheapest that I've found. Sight assembly, $15, forward assist assembly, $12, and door assembly, $6.

Just received a set of each from them and they all look pretty decent.

Essential arms has rear sights for $11.50

They're nice and gray, too.

PKfirearms usually has rear sight assemblies, etc, and JSE surplus also.

Bushmaster always has them in stock, but they are a little pricey.
