Wouldn't cost much to buy the round A2 type, but seems like a PITA to change. |

Doesn't say it is chrome lined, doesn't say anything about the handguard cap or sight base. http://www.sherluk.com/m16a.php other than having a chrome and non chrome barrel, it doesn't say much. You could call or email on either of these sellers. Why not call Sarco and ask about their chrome lined A2 barrel? 1-610-250-3160 P/N AR376 $187.50 |

Every M16 I remember using in the Marine Corps had triangular caps, and the FN M16 takeoff upper I just ordered a few days ago has a triangular cap. The only time I have seen the round caps are on civilian market ARs, and even then, many of those have triangular caps. |
| If I remember right, rifles are supposed to have the triangular caps. Palmetto sometimes has the round caps on the 20" rifles, but the GI rifles and a lot of the other civi rifles have the triangular. I have 2 FN 20" A2 barrels and 1 SAK 20" A1 barrel that I picked up of the EE and they are all triangular caps. Carbines I'm pretty sure are supposed to have the round caps, with the exception of the old 607s of course. |

I don't know if they still have them, but Ohio ordnance works had surplus a2 barrels for 209. I got one to "de-ban" my RRA a2. Even if they don't anymore, surplus barrels are evidently out there. FN marked, chrome lined...mine was in near-mint shape. Gone. I bought an upper and a barrel a few weeks ago. I went to order another barrel and they are no longer listed on the website. |

Parts Barrels Page 3 I got one last week. Other than some light handling marks on the outside, it looks brand new to me. |

Once it disappeared from there, I assumed they were sold out and didn't think to check the other areas of the website. |
