I got it finished up this morning. It is now fully operational. <a href="http://s100.photobucket.com/user/jamesrea_2006/media/Weapons%202014/Retro%20ARs/A2%20Commando/004_zpslhnjlhap.jpg.html" target="_blank">http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m8/jamesrea_2006/Weapons%202014/Retro%20ARs/A2%20Commando/004_zpslhnjlhap.jpg</a> <a href="http://s100.photobucket.com/user/jamesrea_2006/media/Weapons%202014/Retro%20ARs/A2%20Commando/006_zpstnfhptvq.jpg.html" target="_blank">http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m8/jamesrea_2006/Weapons%202014/Retro%20ARs/A2%20Commando/006_zpstnfhptvq.jpg</a> If possible, could you post a closer pic of the rollmark you used? I'm building my wife an A2 Carbine and just ordered a couple of 80% lowers. |

I'm building my wife an A2 Carbine and just ordered a couple of 80% lowers. The lower is a DPMS that I SBR'd several years ago. I originally bought the DPMS carbine back in 2004 and SBR'd it about three years later when I converted it to a Mk18 CQBR. I was not concerned about having a totally correct build on this one. I made use of some stuff I had except for the barrel and stock assemblies. |

Very nice and congratulations! I am looking into the same down the road but with an A2 stock. Is the Front Sight standard height (as opposed to F height)? How does it cycle? Do you think an adjustable gas block would have helped? The front sight is "F" marked, but that is not a big deal to me. I have not had a chance to shoot it just yet. That will be done on Saturday morning. I have no doubt that it will work just fine. |

Quoted: Update: I got the front sling swivel installed today using the rivet instead of a roll pin. Thanks to a video from Brownells, I was able to know how is was done and I had everything I needed. Now, the A2 Commando is officially done. Cool. Do you have a link to the video? |

Do you have a link to the video? http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=11443/learn/ Thanks; that looks too easy. The rubber coating is peeling off the front sling swivel on my A1 and I wondered how hard it would be to replace. I'll probably try stripping it completely and putting some plasti-dip on it, but it's nice to have another option. Gratuitous retro porn. This is the A1 in question. ![]() Oops; I didn't realize we were in the A2 forum. Mea culpa. ![]() |
| Well guys, I got the Commando out to the range this morning. I could not be happier with it. Sighted it in at 50 yards. All I had to do was run the FSP down a little bit. Windage was right on. I ran 40 rounds of M193 through it with no hiccups whatsoever. Very happy. |
