[ARCHIVED THREAD] - A2 Forward mount question?

Quick questions please.......

On an A2 carry handle upper, which forward mount (for an Aimpoint) works best to clear M4 handguards? Aimpoint's or ARMS's?

And then would that change with a KAC's RAS (looks like smaller diameter)?

Im not 100% sure, but I am pretty sure the ARMS #39A2 mount, which happens to be the all around best carry handle mount, will not fit over M4 handgaurds. I'm pretty sure they will fit over Knights RAS though.

The Aimpoint mount is an ok mount, not nearly as rigid as the ARMS unit, but it will fit over anything.

With the ARMS #39A2Plus the top handguard is rather redundant 'cuz you can't grab the top anyway 'cuz the rail is there.

If it won't fit over the M4 upper handguard just use a standard carbine or early M4 handguard (same one).

This is what I did and it works fine. The #39 [b]will not[/b] clear double heat shielded Colt M4 handguards.
