I got a brand new lower with an A2 stock.
The "pad" (part wiht the trap door at back of buttstock) is on crooked, it sticks up over the top of the stock 1/16" to 1/8". It is very noticable and looks bad. Is this normal with A2 stocks? Is this something that can cause problems? Should this even be bothering me? What would you do? |
| It isn't supposed to be that way, but it's all too common for the buttplate to not quite fit right (eta: especially if it's a DPMS stock). It won't cause any problems, exceptr for looking kind of "off". When I had an A2 stock, mine was the same way. I sanded down the buttplate to match the stock. |

It ins't a DPMS, it's from a highly respected top tier manufacturer, which is why it's bugging me. They told me that I could pay to ship the entire lower back to them (maybe they don't know how annoying and expensive it is to ship an omgfirearm as a non-ffl holder?) even though I requested to BUY the required parts (butt plate and A2 stock body) then be reimbursed once the ill fitting parts were returned.
I just ordered a new buttplate, along with a new upper screw (I messed up the original using the wrong screwdriver) for a total of $9. If the new buttplate doesn't fit I'll sand one of them to fit the stock. Lame that I have to deal with this with a $400 complete lower from a big name... |
