I have a 14.5" carbine, with a non F-marked FSB.  I know some manufacturers have made a1.98" FSB without marking it such (with a 'F' mark), but as I do not have calipers, I am presuming mine is the of the 1.94" variety.  How do I change out the sight post/blade with the 1.98" post so I can use iron sights?  Everything else on this rifle is 'spec' so I am a little surprised the FSB is not.

Unscrew the FSP and replace with the longer one if you have a flattop upper. If you have an A2 upper, it will be fine. Who made your "spec" carbine barrel?

Try it with the sight post you have before you buy another. It may well zero as is.

Which Colt barrel? Later 6721 that came originally with an A2 receiver?

I don't know which barrel...is there a way to tell which model?  The upper is a flat top/M4 upper, so the A2 sight was a bit of a surprise.

It the stamping near the muzzle something like this:

C MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 HBAR

or

C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7

Is it 16" or 14.5"?

Skinny or Government profile(M4) or heavy and thick?

looks like a 723 or 727 barrel...
I'm quite sure a Colt barrel without a F marked FSB use a taller front sight post.
did you try to zero it first? I think you should be fine.
