| My buddy told me there was a list of Upper Receiver markings to determine brand. I have looked around and searched it but can't find it. My question is, I have an A2 upper receiver that is marked with an "A" on the carrying handle. I would like to know what brand it is made by, or have a link to a list of upper receiver marks. |
| If that is the only marking it will be hard to do. Sounds like you only have a broken A, and if so that is a forge code for Anchor Harvey Forge. They make lots of uppers for lots of other makers that finish them and sell them. Another A code would be Armalite but you need to describe the A in question to know. |
Based on your description, that doesn't sound like anything I've ever seen. But that's only a forge maqrk, and tells you nothing about who actually took the raw forging and built an upper out of it. Colt and FN upeers are marked w/an F or a C along w/the forge mark. So you know it's not one of those. What you have is a commercially built upper reciever, and that's about all you can tell.
