| I have a 51t flash hider and a 51t muzzle brake, both new in package with a small tube of Rocksett. I open the first tube and it comes out like a thick gel. Tried rolling it onto the muzzle threads....not happening. Thought maybe it was just a bad tube. Tried the next one, same thing....WTF? Is this normal. I don't see how you could properly coat the muzzle threads and the muzzle device threads with this stuff. Anyone have any experience? Any other suggestions on what to use? Both rifles will be sporting 51t suppressors. |

Do NOT coat the threads with Rocksett. 1 drop on the muzzle device threads and 1 drop on the barrel threads are all that is needed according to the people at AAC that I have spoken with.
If you slather it on you will hate yourself when/if you ever ty to remove it. It should be gel-like (kind of like honey). ETA: Clean all threads with brake cleaner, let dry, shim(for the brake), apply drops of Rocksett, and then torque to the spec listed on the package. |

The instructions from AAC say "apply one to two drops of Rocksett to the threads on the host rifle and the threads on the muzzle brake. Distribute the Rocksett using a clean cotton swab."
But I hear ya, I don't want to make it harder on myself if I ever have to remove. I get that it should be like honey, but these tubes were literally unworkable. You know the clear tacky stuff that they use to attach credit cards to sheets of paper when they mail them? That is exactly the texture of this stuff. It just rolled into little gummy balls when I tried to drip it onto the threads. I'll get up with AAC and see if they will send me another tube though. Is this the best stuff to use? Is there any alternative? For those that have used 'Rocksett'...was it from AAC or somewhere else? |

AACs price is ass rapage for the ammount you get. 2 Oz for $10 to last you a lifetime I prefer Rocksett over red Locktite. Rocksett shouldnt be really thick and tacky. When it cures, it can be a hassle. It should go on rather easily. |
