Then you have to use 123 cells as there are no pistol lights in AA. There are not many electronice that run off 123 cells. You best bet is to standardise on 123 and AA cells. You will still find that you cant escape coin cells (high powered scope illumination is almost universlally 2032, 2354, or 1/3N cell). Watches use them, my CTC laser grips use them, Aimpoints, etc. Standardising on ONE battery type is a fools folly. You will never accomplish this without silly compromises. Select batteries that can be had as lithium primaries ONLY. Get some spares of those. Things that need constant recharging and run dry often (like daily to weekly) should use AA rechargables. Weaponlights are not going to run out weekly so they dont need to be rechargable. Just buy a couple dozen 123 cells to pack away up front. If you stay away from 9V, C, D, and AAA you have simplified enough. If you wanted to go all out standardise one coin cell for things that use them like Aimpoints, scopes, lasers, etc. Lots of items will have non standardised, individualised rechargable batteries anyway (computers, cell phones, high end radios, high end cameras, etc.) |
