What is the best ACOG Model out there.

I have been leaning towards the TA01NSN-Doc, but i want other thoughts.

I Have a TA01NSN, so to me it's the best.

A would like to get ahold of a TA31TRD, which uses BAC and Trjicon's Dotsight in a Piggyback setup. Don't have a BAC model so it would be new to me.

They also have a Model that is a TA01NSN except has the TRD sight as well. Called the TA01NSN-TRD.

The USMC models are cool as well!

I like the TA11 series because of much better eye relief.

TA01NSN-TRD with the protective wing mount has to get my nod right now.  The BAC will sometimes bloom, and while the chevron reticule is not difficult to learn at all, years of movies and TV have rotted my brain, and the crosshairs are just plain stupid simple to use .

Get the protective wing mount, though, if you plan to do anything serious with it!  I've had my TA01NSN-TRD for less than a month now, and the edges of the protective wing mount are already chipped and worn silver.  I could only imagine how that little TRD would be doing without the wings.

TA31F and it's progeny, the TA31RCO versions are also very very nice.  I just wish that they'd upgrade all the models to have the retention straps on the adjustment caps.

Is there an ACOG that could fit an SPR style rifle well? Or do they just not have enough magnification to shoot small/minute targets at medium-long ranges?

I have the TA31 with the red chevron and we just don't get along, but not even close to the point that I would unload it for anything else out there.  IIHTDIAOA I would go with the NSN model with crosshairs.  The ACOG is a superb scope in quality and ruggedness, so please don't think I'm bashing it--I just don't like the chevron.  The donut or the crosshair would be my vote now.

300 yds is about the max for the ACOG 4x if you want any precision--and that is more reliant on your skill than the scope.

They are all great, Illuminated crystal clear glass that's worth every penny!
I own 5!!

I have a NSN and TA11F.  The longer eye relief is not really needed for 223's but it does it help you acquire the target faster.  BAC is not as precise as the NSN reticle, but is almost Eotech like fast.

If you are putting it on a .308, most definately go with the TA11E.

I have a TA31F and a Compact model with the same reticle (I think it's about 3x). I love both. One is on a lightweight carbine and the compact is on a SIG 556. I see a TA01NSN in my future somewhere

They are great optics- perfect mix of size, ruggedness and useful BDC.

I was issued the TA31FRCOM4 and A4 versions and have owned a TA33. The TA33, while having slightly less magnification, has far superior eye relief. It is very nice. I wouldn't buy a TA31 if it cost $50.

I'm just the opposite, hate the donut on my TA31

I like the M4 RCO that I have also.

With .556 75gr Hornady, the TA55A BDC tracks pretty close (under .5MOA out to 650 yards), and it's 5.5X, high resolution and superb low light characteristics make it an option for a SPR.

My TA31F works fine out to 600 yards.  More is almost always better of course but the ACOG is no slouch.  The BDC is faster than messing with "clicks" and they are bulletproof.

+1, Also most people do not realise what a difference high quality clear glass makes in an optic, I can see 5.56 holes on a 200yd target easily through a 4X ACOG & not see the same holes through a 9X lower quality optic.
