I know the ACOG scopes are callibrated for certain weight projectiles for certain length barrels (usually 62 gr. out of either 14.5, 16, or 20" barrel, I believe).  In general, which caliber BDC would closest match a commerically loaded  77 gr. .223 round out of an 18" barrel?  5.56 or the .308?

I have a TA33 which is calibrated for 62gr bullets.

Out of my 18 inch upper, if I zero with 75s at 400 meters, it is within +-2 inches out to 500 meters.  And I think it is something like 4 inches low at 600 meters.

Meaning I zero with the 400 meter stadia at 400 meters, and deal with the very slight offset at different ranges.
