I am about to order a TA31RCO-A4CP

My question is, I know that the TA31RCO-A4 ACOG are built to work effectively in 20" 1/7 twist barrels and 55 grain rounds.

My problem is, I have a 1/9 twist 20"

Will the bullet drop compensator work correctly with it, or should I invest in a 1/7 20"?

Also, is the original Trijicon mount good to go? I'm a fan of LaRue but after spending this much on an ACOG I'm wondering if it is truly worth it.

Save your money, get a TA31 or an NSN...Unless you are a die hard collector or will be calling in Arty rounds...It is not worth it.

Nah, I got my heart set on it and I like the chevron reticule.

It's fine.

The BDC is always going to be a little "off" because of:

* environmental changes including altitude and temperature
* barrel to barrel variations
* ammo lot to ammo lot variations

So I'm going to have the same possible negatives as any issue rifle would have yes?

Good summary.

I also go so far as so say that you can run any ACOG on any combination of barrel/ammo, since you will have to figure out how it works with your combination anyway.
