I am looking for a scope for my Patrol M4GERY and would like to knw if there are anydecent ACOG out there for the money? I don't have a thousand dollars to spend on a real Trijicon. I will be using a Colt LE 6920 16.0"

If it's a patrol rifle, put an EOTech or an Aimpoint on it.

I just want to be sure I understand.

Is this actually a rifle you are taking on LE patrol?

I own one but I would not use it for my duty rifle, I use it for plinking and coyote hunting. like poster above said use an aimpoint or eotech.

I wouldn't put an airsoft/chinese optic on a patrol rifle. First off I would not trust one to hold zero and just generally to stand up to abuse, second it'd be a real liability issue I think. If you are involved in a shooting that is controversial someone may go over that carbine with a fine tooth comb. I would not want a scope that is sold as an airsoft toy to be discovered by some asshole ex cop hired by some guy who has been shot trying to get some money out of the department. Explaining that you put a toy scope on your duty carbine because of economic reasons would be a particularly bad day in court.

If you absolutely have to go this route I'd look at a low power standard scope from a quality manufacturer. I have seen people shoot very very quickly with regular 1-3 type scopes, however these were people who were already extremely skilled and proficient shooters who practice quite a bit. Personally I have never used  a set up like this but have seen the following used

www.swfa.com/pc-4735-707-new-simmons-15-5x32-prodiamond-master-shotgun-scope.aspx

www.swfa.com/pc-4423-227-trijicon-125-4x24-accu-point-rifle-scope.aspx

I'm not a cop and I have not used the above scopes except to peek through them ymmv etc

Personally I would use an aimpiont. They may be reasons why a leo would need the power, for target ID I guess. [shrug] You can get hits with an aimpoint (350+ yards is the farthest I have used one) way past the range  that patrol rifles are normally used (100 yards ish)

Sell the Eotech and put it toward a 3x magnifier.

Or if you insist on a stand alone magnified optic, take Aimless' suggestion and get a Trijicon Accupoint 1.5-4x.

Honestly, there are few patrol rifle functions that arent going to be filled by the Aimpoint or Eotech you already have.

If you were building a precision rifle, than this would be a different discussion.

I am not sure what I want. I guess I will use my Eotech 512 on a LaRue mount or my Aimpoint M2 on My LaRue LT150 or my Aimpoint ML3 2.0 MOA my LaRue Mount LT150. I would like to Thank Everybody for their imput and ideas.
