Ok boys and girls..... I was deployed with the 22nd MEU(SOC) in 1997. Along with some other fun toys we were issued we got ACOG's to mount on our M16A2's. Since I am putting together a A2 Clone, I would like to also get that same ACOG. Here is my dilemma. I was not a "gun nut" back then. I used what I was given to the best of my ability and never cared about who made it or what it's designation was past the military nomenclature. I have a feeling it was the TA01 without the iron sights on top, but I don't know if they were ever (or are still) calibrated for the A2/M855. I can't even remember for sure what the reticle looked like since we only used them for the MEUSOC Workup and a couple of operations. Anyone have any better info or any of you web surfers find any MEUSOC images from the late 90's with an ACOG in them? I am thinking I may just have to buy a TA01, but I don't know how far off the reticle will be on a 20" instead of a 14.5" barrel. |
The TA01 are made for the 20” AR. The TA01NSN is made for a 14.5 to 16”. The TA01 model was most likely what you had on your 20” A2. We have them in stock.
