Supposed to mount to a flat top.  What am I missing?

Thanks for helping a new guy out.  I am clueless.

ETA: The steel wool and cleaner in the left corner is for cleaning the lenses real good. Will that hurt anything?

YOU are DA man.  Now - where can I get and what is best for the regular AR.  Low for the flat top and high for the rail I am guessing?

Oh and screws?  They come with a mount or did the seller lose them?

MD..  they are clearing them out at Botach..  I think $69..

I found one on the EE for $60.

What model is it?  I have a couple of the triangles..  I am just curious what the XX-4 looks like (the crosshairs)..

If you have the ability to take a pic of the reticle, I would really like to see it.

If you are in to google..  That is the Trijicon "Special Ring Mount".  There are a lot of vendors that sell the bases.

The reticle is a amber dot atop a single line reticle

Top right hand one in this pic

I got one a few years ago from SWFA.

I’ve never had a problem with it, but the mount’s base where it’s secured to the upper’s rail always struck me as smaller than what I’d prefer.

Here they are

I can find the pic you posted of the reticles..  I just want to see what they look like through the scope.  I can't find a pic of that.  Trijicon's glossy photo is one thing.. I just can't judge the actual size of the lines since they make the Triangle much bigger than it actually is.  If that is the actual size of all the reticles in scale..  I would guess that the crosshair is about invisible..

Thanks for finding them.

Reticle is a lot smaller than shown, amber dot atop thin, nearly invisible line.  You got it!

It is - so what is the best between low, medium and high?

I just got my first TA24-2 which is a Special Ring Mount from Botach's sale..

I found a Med mount on the EE and by the pics it looks like it is where I want to be with it.

I don't think the Medium mount will Co-witness with irons.  Per the seller that I bought it from, he had to slice out a section on a high mount to get them to co-witness.  Here is the ad it is possibly already sold but there is some good info in there anyways.

I have a flip front and flip rear so I just went with the medium mount as the high looked really tall.

When it get's here, I will drop you a PM and let you know how close/far off it is.

cool - I think I will go with the medium or high.

Thanks for the info and do LMK what yours is like when you get it!
