| You could get a TA01. Red illumination instead of yellow (I personally like the red better). They are cheaper, usually easier to find, they don't have the iron sites built in , and it doesn't come with the TA-51 mount. You can always buy the mount separately or upgrade to a 19S or Larue ACOG mount. |

If it's any help, I just picked up a May 2003 manufacture TA31A on the EE for $820 shipped, including the TA51 mount. It's on one of my 16" flattops. If you're worried about mounting a carry-handle model on a flattop or vice versa, I was too. I called Trijicon to see what they would say, and the tech there said that they just finished some internal testing on just this question. He said they found that the error introduced by doing so was about 0.6 MOA, or less than the width of the reticle line. Good enough for me!! |
