I was at a gun show today and had my first opportunity to look at a ACOG TA31F. When I looked through it the red chevron was very blurry and I could barely make out the black line beneath it. I definitely could not see the number 4 or 6 like in the pictures on Trijicon's website or pics posted here. Was I somehow looking through the scope wrong or is there some kind of focal adjustment.
have you looked thru any red dot or illuminated reticle other than the TA31F you looked through. you have to focus on the target and not the reticle. secondly you may have astigmatism where your eyes simply cannot adjust to give you a clear/crisp pic of the reticle. i would recommend going to any gun shop that carries these or any red dot and trying to look at the target instead. also how far away were you holding it from your eye. they have a pretty short eye relief.
I do have a couple of Aimpoint's and don't seem to have issues seeing a crisp red circle. I was holding it pretty close to my eye. I haven't seen any ACOG's in stores in my area and was pretty excited to see one at the gun show. Maybe when the next show comes around another dealer will have one so I can try it out again. Thanks.
