A guy at the gunshow this weekend had an ACOG. Look legit, but when I covered the objective lens there was no clowing reticle what so ever. It was brightly lit and I would think the fiber optic would give something?

An ACOG reticle (donut, chevron, triangle etc) is brighter than hell when outdoors, or indoors in a well-lit room.

It sounds like you were looking at a fake. If you were in a brightly lit room there is no conceivable way the reticle wouldn't be visible. Sometimes I cover a portion of the fiber optic on my TA11 with electrical tape to subdue the reticle in daylight. I have an astigmatism, and sometimes the bright donut is overpowering and distorted with my cruddy eyesight.

That's what I figured.

Are you sure it wasn't a TA01?

Just checkin'.

Though you should still see some tritium glow if you cover the lens...
