| I have a Colt M4,flattop,preban 1/7 twist. What ACOG,without BAC, would be best for this rifle shooting from 25 to 200yds and do you see the front site post in the site picture when mounting on a flattop? Thanks for help. |

Quoted: At 4x the front site post doesn't show up at all. But the question is, why withoutBAC? IIRC the TA31F (w/BAC) is also set up for that combo of flat-top, 14.5", M855. |

I'm able to use my weak side and weak eye with BAC, although it does take longer for my brain to switch to the zoomed view that way. .223Rem indicated he was having some issues with greater dot shift when using his weak eye. Remember, worst case scenario you can still use the scope in the same way as the TA01, so you might want to think about it. Downside is the BAC scopes cost more so I can understand not wanting to pay for a feature you can't use well. Edited to add: Being in Maryland, there are some good resources for AR15s there. I'd try and hook up with some of your local clubs and see if you can get a trial run on BAC. |

Newt, I am also left eye dominant and shoot right-handed as B_R indicate, but that will not stop me from purchasing another ACOG with BAC. I prefer the fiber optic illuminated reticle with the BAC models as well. I had a chance to talk to a friend who is an Opthomologist and he is looking into proper eye strengthening exercises that will help this issue. I will post the exercises when I get them. I asked about taping my shooting glasses over my dominant eye to strengthen my weak eye and he does not recommend it. He said your dominant eye will still seek out a field of view and since the direct view is hindered by the tape, the eye will start to strain the muscle to see what's in the peripheral view. This may cause damage to the muscle of the dominant eye and further change the different views the weak and dominant eye have. I'll be in touch. |
| I hunt fleeing, swiming and running, game with a Volquartsen 22mag topped with a Burris 1.5x6 Signature series scope every week. I am use to quick accusition of targets and this scope is very clear and has alot of eye relief. I have a Armalite M15A4SS & a Bushmaster V match both topped with this scope. My point is that I have no problem with one eye closed scope shooting but as I understand it the BAC is a two eye open concept. So shooting right handed w/both eyes open & a dominant left eye would put me way off target? I also have a Bushmaster preban M4gery topped with a Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T. This optic is clear and the circle recticle is fairly quick but eye relief is poor.223 I am very interested to here what you find out. |
