| Been looking into taking the plunge and getting an ACOG, have a line on a $900 ta11 that I've called Trijicon and verified authenticity with a mfg date in 2013. My question is, what other comparable optics are worth looking into for under $1,000 that are similar to ACOG? 3x-4x |

If you like trijicon you should fo. For that price I wouldnt think there are comparables in a fixed optic. I prefer variable but to each their own.
Eta. You can buy new for about the same price though. https://www.opticsplanet.com/trijicon-35x35-acog-scope-with-red-donut-bac-reticle-ta11.html |
| I'm not necessarily OPPOSED to variable. I'm just not the most knowledgeable so I'm looking for opinions. ACOGs have a solid reputation for being quality and I happened to find a killer deal on one locally. Wouldn't necessarily need more than up to 6x on a variable, that being said what quality variables might you recommend? I'm just looking for a new quality optic in the $1,000 or less range to try out, getting bored with my EOTech |

EMS, I get blue line on firearms, I suppose I would assume I still get that price though. Never tried using blue line for optics to be quite honest with you lol Damn. Checked with Leupold. You aren't eligible. |

I've owned these ACOGs:
TA31 (4x32) TA33 (3x30) TA11 (3.5x35) TA44 (1.5x??) The only one I was unhappy with was TA31. The eye relief is less than 2" and pretty unforgiving but the field of view was incredible. TA11 is my favorite. It's a little larger but still light. Great combination of forgiving eye relief and decent FOV. I prefer ACOGs because they're crystal clear, have an illuminated etched reticle, don't require batteries, and I can use them with or without glasses. If you have any vision problems ACOG is a great way to go. I've purchased all my ACOGs used and at steep discounts. Buy used from the EE and spend the extra $ on a case of ammo. |

I've had one mounted on my primary 3-Gun AR since January and I'm pretty well convinced it's the bestt "all around" optic I've ever had. |

I've had all of these and would share the exact same opinion. For an AR that's going to stay under 300 meters (which in reality is most of your practical distance anyways) the TA-44 is a great choice. It takes a little more training time to get it to where you're as fast as a red-dot, but it works just fine at contact distance. |

If I were in the market I would take a serious look at the Burris XTR 1.5-8x28. It is a 34mm tube so keep that in mind when looking at mounts.
My .02 BTW I really like the CRS 1-6x24. It is a great optic with AWSOME glass and reticule! However for the type of shooting I do the Burris 1.5-8 might be a better match only I have not had the opportunity to check one out. |
