All the TA-31Fs I have seen have the knobs on the left side just like the carry handle.  Looks like the Marines have the ACOG knobs moved to the right side above the ejection port.
What gives, is one way better than the other?  Why?

They can be moved to either side by unscrewing the base from the scope and flipping it.

I like them on the ejection port side so that they don't interfere with the bolt release.

I know this, I wanted to know why I would want to move it to the other side.  Is it better over the ejection port?

Knobs on the left snag on gear.

Ah

I like to keep all the mount screws and knobs on one side. Since you cant flip some mounts realistically such as Aimpoint, rail graber leaf sight, PVS-14 mount, etc to the other side I keep them on the right. Plus I like the left side to stay as clean as possible.
