Is the lettering on the bottom of the housing with the bible verse in it the serial number? Also, does anyone else have a date stamped on top of their ACOG?

The stamp on top is the serial; the number on the eye piece and the main body should match.

The Bible verse is in fact just that, it was something Mr Bindon liked to do.  IIRC.

The guy I purchased it from said that the stamp on top was the date code for the expiration of the tritium lamp. Now that you say this, it makes total sense that this is the serial #. Thanks!

That guy must have pulled that answer out of his ass as it makes not one bit of since.
Most ACOGs also have this same number on the left side etched into the metal and not stamped as they are on top.

Interesting. It's a 4-digit number. Perhaps I should e-mail Trijicon?

I would just call the 800 number Monday.  They can tell you if real or not or if sold to the .mil and when made based on the sn.

Only 4 digits?  Mine is 6 if you include the 0 at the front.
