What is the main deference between the regular ACOG and the Compact.

I want to buy an ACOG but I'm not sure wich one to buy. I'm thinking either a TA01 or a TA44-4.

The compact acogs are very small and light.

The Full sized ACOGs have bullet drop/range finging marks.

Then there is the whole BAC thing.  Keep reading.

I just bought a TA-44 2, and i love it. Its so small and light. The optics are crystal clear, and the BAC thing is great. ACOG's rock

If you get a full size ACOG, do yourself a favor and skip the TAO1 series. They are the ONLY magnified ACOGs to lack the BAC. BAC is one of the greatest advantages magnified ACOGs have. Think TA31 or TA11.

Full size ACOGs have more magnification and bullet drop compensated reticles and, in my opinon, a better choice of reticles. Comp ACOGs are smaller, lighter, less expensive and simpler to use.
