What do you guys like better for a lightweight stock for shooting with a 3-9x scope?

I have it narrowed down to the Magpul ACS and the Vltor Basic Modstock, what do you guys think?

I'd like it as lightweight as possible, any other ideas?

Thanks!

Maybe the ACE Ultralight stock?

Using the shipping info on a website that sells both, the weights appear to be:

Shipping Weight:
Vltor - 0.8125lbs
ACS - 0.75lbs

So the weight isn't so much an issue as which you want and what features you are looking for.  The ACS has the friction lock, and I personally like that look more.  Your choice.

If you really want a lightweight stock I would skip on the ACS. I have one and although it is very comfortable it is definitely NOT on the lighter side of stocks.  If you want to stay in in the lighter range I would look to the CTR.

Here is a great writeup for exactly what you are looking for from USMC03

I've owned an ACS and shot with a VLTOR EMOD. Both were great stocks but once I found the LMT SOPMOD I was sold. Great cheekweld, lightweight and rock solid. Plus I find it the best looking of the 3. Unfortunately, my tastes might not suit you. Try out a bunch of different stocks and you'll find out rather quickly which one you like best.

I found out that the basic modstock weight for just the stock part is .48lbs while the ACS is .86lbs.

Lightweight is important but I still want a good cheekweld for the scope.

Do you guys know if the modstock has any wiggle to it?  And anybody know how much the LMT SOPMOD weighs and does that have any wiggle?

Thanks!

Not sure how much my SOPMOD weighs but it is incredibly rock solid for a stock that doesn't use a Magpul-esque friction lock.

That link I put above has all the weights in it as well as reviews.  It will definitely help you make your decision.  IIRC the Sopmod weighs less than the ACS.  Both have excellent cheek welds.
