Have a chance to get 940 rounds of ADCOM 99 dated M885 (the stuff that likes to pop primers and separate case heads). Is this stuff worth grabbing for the components if I plan to reload in the future?

I'm pretty out of the loop on component prices. I'm figuring at least I'd get brass and bullets out of the deal. How cheap would I have to get it, per round, to make it cost effective?

Thanks for any help!!

seems like a whole lotta trouble (labor wise)
just to get components.

me...I have shot the 99HS ADCOM with no issues.

I have about 1500 rds of the Adcom 99 stuff for range time. I have had no problems with it at all. The only stuff that I won't buy again is the Olympic arms stuff. It jammed the heck out of my entry tactical.

Not all '99 Adcom is bad.  Inspect each round as you load it in the mag.  I can't see the economy in taking the stuff down, unless you're being given the stuff for zip.  Even then I'd worry about salvaging just the fired brass cases.

I shoot it and reload ADCOM

I have Olympic that I shoot and reload too.  On reload 3 with my Oly .223 brass stuff.

It works fine in my 16" and my 14.5" but I see alot of blown primers in my SBR.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll pass.
I think the ADCOM '99 comes in different "batches" though -- this "batch" (from the gunshop I work in) has blown primers and caused other worrisome overpressure signs in two different ARs, including one case head failure that locked the weapon up tight. I don't want to shoot it THAT bad, and as blasting ammo the cheapest I can get it for is .17/rd. My manager said that if it's dangerous to shoot I could "make him an offer" for it for the components, but it looks like it'd have to be very, very cheap to make it worth it.

its a lot of work, and the powder is an unknown factor for reloading.  If you could get it really cheap, then it'd be worth it.
