Which American Defense scope mount for use with Burris XTR-14 ? Recon or Recon X ? Scout or Scout X ?

or input from any 1-4x owners

The Scout will secure and rtz the same as the Recon....however for the small amt. extra, the 2 latched Recon is prob. a better choice so you will have a small insurance policy.  I have numerous gear w. the ADM latches and never had one fail so take the insurance policy for what its worth.

Personally I never get a non-x version because the x will never be a detriment yet the non x could be one if you need more eye relief while still using the actual upper receiver to mount it on. So I would get the Recon or Scout X but any way go you will be gtg.

I know there was someone around here that had some pics of each but I just can find them now. You have any pics with your set-up mounted ?

If you shoot nose to charging handle you want the ADM Recon X...here's a pic of my setup w/a XTR-14

Great pics, Trident.
One day I'm going to get a 1-4X scope.

For the 1-4X the extended mount for sure (NTCH), for scopes like the 2.5-10 or 3-15, well it depends on what type of cheekweld you're most comfortable with.
There is no right or wrong, some shooters still want their nose on the charging handle and some like to be just off it or even a couple of inches back.
Using myself as an example, I like to be touching the CH when using zero magnification optics, but greater and greater mm back as magnification increases.
