I have a chance to purchase a couple of stripped lowers for $150.00 each.  One is an RRA which I am familiar with.  The other is an AFM which I have never heard of.  Any body have any info on AFM?  It looks pretty well made.

Thanks

Smith, are you in Tucson?  $150 is lower than most retailers for an AFM.

It is extremely well made, but it is so exacting in its tolerances that if you have pins that are even slightly out of spec you will have a tight squeeze.  I had to go through 2-3 sets of RRA trigger pins, which vary considerably, until I found a good fit.  There is no slop.

Also, no one knows what sort of resale value they will hold, since no one knows about them.  My fit with an AFM upper is like that of a custom 1911.  It is also an excellent fit with my Larue Stealth upper.

I have quite a bit of info on American Firearms Manufacturing Co. ( AFM ) lower receivers. Here it goes:

Every Lower Receiver is:
  - Made with a Certified (Certificate of Conformance) 7075 Aluminum T6 Heat Treated MIL-STD Forging
  - Type III Class II Hard Coat Anodized
  - Manufactured in Small Lots
  - Inspected and Quality Control Checked Before Being Placed Into Inventory
  - Manufactured by AFM for AFM

AFM maintains an extreme level of quality control throughout the entire manufacturing process to provide a tighter tolerance for a more precisely manufactured weapon system of custom shop quality.

All AFM lower receivers to be sold stripped are serialized with an "S" suffix. This provides the customer with the knowledge of the original configuration of the lower receiver.

Diamondback Police Supply Co., Inc. in Tucson, Arizona is an authorized dealer.
