I recently had the ALG ACT trigger installed in my new 14.5" middy and would like to know if others are experiencing the same issue.

When I move the selector from safe to fire, there is a discernible stop of the selector lever about halfway between safe and fire positions. It feels as if it were really designed that way.  If I push the selector rather quickly the stop or pause in the middle isn't really noticeable...just goes right on to the fire position.  But when pushing the selector slowly I can definitely feel and then see the selector take a little nap at the half way position on its way to the fire position.  It almost feels like it was designed that way but because it just feels like it should pause there for some reason.

Was the trigger not installed correctly??  the trigger does function fine and does reset the way it should and the rifle fires just fine..  I have also perform several trigger function checks which performed very well.

It is installed on a practically new Olympic Arms pre ban lower.

Any thoughts about this step from safe to fire transition?  Anyone else have the ALG ACT trigger behaving in this manner?  Is it supposed to perform in that way??  Am I just being anal or should it really be a smooth transition from safe to fire?

Yup, I would say mine is about 2/3 of the way to fire.  I assumed it was a flaw in the track machined into the selector where the detent rides.  One of these days I will pull things apart and see where the catch is coming from.  Like yours, there is a stop that is not really noticeable if you flick it quick, but if you are deliberate about it you get an audible snick and a stop in the middle.

If it is something to do with the trigger, it would have to involve the machining of the tail of the trigger that the selector bears on correct?  Mine is also much harder to move to safe when the bolt is locked back, an issue I have read is hit or miss, how about yours?

Is the rest of your LPK stock or did you install or change other parts as well?  Mine is a Spikes.

I believe the rest of the LPK is stock.  As for moving the selector to safe when the bolt is locked back, I notice no difference as you describe.

I know there are many more ACT triggers out here and would like to hear from some of you about this issue...thanx.

All of my selectors except my ambi Colt do the same. The 3 parts making that happen are the selector, selector detent, and selector spring. The FCG shouldn't effect what any of those do (except not being able to flip selector on safe with hammer dropped)

Mine does not do this.  It is smooth.  LPK is PSA.

I have the ACT.
The safety selector detent action is normal.
I always hit the dentent track with moly grease to help the parts break in.

If you had normal detent action prior to the trigger install, there may be a slight clearance issue
at the trigger tail/selector.
The DMR instructions will show you where to look for interference (if any)...

I have ALG ACTs in two of my ARs and I have no issues with the selectors at all. As long as the weapon is charged, they go from SAFE to FIRE very easily, just as all my ARs do. Naturally, if the weapon is not charged, the selector will not move from FIRE to SAFE.

No issues here either. It's in a BCM LPK.
