I had an ALG ACT with JP springs in my last AR. Nice smooth trigger pull for the money. Is the act that much better than the qms? Any other budget triggers in this price range? (under $100)

The pull is the same, the ACT just has the goofy coating.

I'm with you on this. I have both and I really can't tell a difference in the two triggers. If they didn't have a different finish I wouldn't know which was which. I think that the ACT is finished to last longer.

I have both.

installed the ACT in a PWS to replace the QMS they come with.  My buddy also has a PWS (with factory QMS) and we pulled them both with a trigger pull gauge.  ACT is exactly at 5 pounds and the QMS pulled at exactly 6... both are pretty smooth with the ACT being slightly smoother.

is it worth the extra $20? maybe not... but for $55 when they are on sale (I think primary arms has them for about that right now) then yeah... I'd pay the extra $10

hope that helps.

I own both, and they are both a huge improvement over LPK triggers, but the break on my ACT is a little more crisp than the QMS.

I have 3 qms and 1 act.  Purchase order---qms-act--qms--qms............

The ACT seems better than my QMS, maybe because it's shiny

I've had 5 of the ACTs, feel better than the DPMS and PSAs I have tried, but feel no different than any other generic LPK trigger.  I'd drop $80-85 on the new hyperfire or RRA 2stage first.  Went with AR Gold, Timney, and CMCs in mine.
