What is the best AMERICAN ammo out there for home defense, law enforcement, etc. that is non corrosive? I was going to get 800 rounds of remington umc from cabelas but i heard that is blah.
So again, AMERICAN / home defense / law enforcement MAKE / GRAIN I've got a 1:7 twist |
| I never tried the UMC because I noticed it is 45 grain and most FMJ is 55gr, I like the PMC or the Remington green box as both sell for $10.00 a box and Cabelas will make you a bulk box of either. The PMC travels better as it has no plastic or foam insert in the box and it shoots well. |

One last thing i didnt see on there, for home defense would i want a lower grain or higher grain? |
Shoot a large variety and find out what your rifle likes to eat. My new Rifle shoots the Remington UMC 55 gr like buckshot, which makes me very sad since it's cheap and readily available @ walmart. It seems to like the XM 193. Probably will really like some nice expensive match ammo. Starting to remind me of taking the wife to dinner

Huh? Where'd that extra .1 inches come from? i believe they do that so that they aren't right on the line legally, just for good measure. should something happen during manufacturing and the barrel come up just a little short some ATF prick could have their ass for sending out an SBR upper or something. i've noticed that a lot of manufacturers on the actual specs their barrels are 16.1. i'm pretty sure my BCM is. |

ok. my intent was to buy 10 boxes at a local store which is normally high in price. The guy over the phone quoted $24.97. I got to the store and told the hot chick behind the counter, let me get 10 boxes. She said wow you almost bought all of them. I said how many do you have left, she said 1, i said i'll take it. She said man people are going to be pissed at you. I said why, she said because this is about the best ammo you can get, and were out now. To my surprise it was $22.97 a box, .02 cents cheaper than cabelas.

| is there a significant difference in the .223 versus the 5.56 versions? I know a 5.56 can shoot the .223 but not the other way around but what are the pros and cons? I forgot the details but I remember something about the pressures having to do with it..can anyone enlighten me? |
