Okay, so this was a shitty tool issue. I bought a Magpul Armorer's Wrench, and it made all the difference. Inserted the magblock into the magwell and sat on the gun with the buffer tube facing out. I was able to spin the castle nut off fairly easily.

You are right, that is pretty different! But if you do sbr it, before you try to make a complete custom stock for it try out the Hera thumbhole stock.

Simple 10.5, Blade brace, MOE handguard and PG (all gray), SPARC and light. Took it pig hunting this weekend and now I want another. Torn between 9mm (would prefer 40) and dedicated 22LR.

I built my 10.5" 5.56 because I had an extra Spikes lower in the safe, and that was quickly followed by my 9mm, and now I'm planning out a 22lr, lmao

Looked through pages and pages of this thread trying to find a setup like this, as its what I had in mind for a current build. How does your's run?

Only differences I'm thinking are a K2+ grip instead of your MOE+ and a 10.5" PSA upper with flash can instead of 7".

No issues at all. I have a 10.5 setup as well. No issues there either.

Pistol build is just about done. Not sure if I’m going to leave the KAK blade on there or switch to the Maxim PDW brace.

Also undecided on leaving the Aimpoint T1 or possibly trying a Holosun 510C.

Needs a light as well...will probably go with a Streamlight TLR1.

This is my first ar pistol. I just finished it today. It was very basic when I got it with literally no accessories on it except some magpul xtm rail panels. I had some extra parts laying around and needed to get a few things; I'm not sure if i like the more vertical k2+ grip yet. I may have to swap it out, but other than that I really like it.

Now I just need to get out and put some rounds through it.

You might want to dry fire it first and make sure it doesn't fire on safe. I had that same combination - POF 3.5lb flat trigger and AIMsurplus selector (made by Seekins) - and it would fire on safe every time. The selector would also move freely between fire and safe whether the hammer was back or not. Switched out the POF trigger for a Rise Armament RA-434 and it works as it should now.
