Is it worth getting? I have been wanting to order one for awhile now, couldn't find any at the last Wannamacher's in Tulsa, OK and even heard from a dealer that they aren't going to be made anymore because of something with them being "borderline legal". Is that true? There are still many websites on the net to get them from, also, if I do get one and go shooting and Sheriff's show up, what am I supposed to do? I live on Oklahoma so gun-laws are like nothing here, we can pretty much own anything and everything, thank gawd it hasn't turned out like Cali yet... hat dR |

I can't believe it's been this long since someone asked this question again! Basically it's simulating the effect of an autoburst trigger using just your finger and tension. If you keep your finger and firing arm rigid, then pull the rifle forward with the other hand it will fire. The recoil will push the rifle back. Pulling/pushing the rifle forward will make it fire again. If you use just enough tension when pushing the rifle away from you, the recoil motion becomes repetetive and the rifle continues to cycle fire continuously. Sometimes it may help to take the firing hand and loop your thumb through say, your pants belt loop to keep it motionless. It takes a while to figure out just how hard to push the rifle away from you - just enough to fire but light enough to allow it to recoil back and get pushed again with a constant amount of force. The "autoburst" triggers simply put a spring behind the trigger aiding in pushing the trigger forward and resetting it, but you still have to perform the same actions as bump firing - the device just makes it a bit easier for some people. On the otherhand, you could get a crank device that cams the trigger to fire multiple times with each turn of the crank handle - but both devices have the same drawbacks - you can only hold the rifle tightly with one hand. |

This is bump fire (windows media file) |
Holy shit!!! hat Now back to the Autoburst, I remember seeing a video that was being played at a dealer table and it showed a guy firing an AK47 with one while holding the gun the as in shown in the video above. Ive got the bump firing down but its kinda dumb to hold it at my side, I figured the Autoburst let you do the same thing but just by holding like the guy was in the video... |
shooting 9mm rounds? That vid looks like a full auto to me. I dont see the action of how to do bump fire |
The push you feel in your shoulder (felt recoil) is used to pull the rifle against your finger. DISCLAIMER- DO not try this if you are stupid. You need a major clear downrange as rounds will go in every direction until you know what you are doing. Better yet, do not try this at all, this is for informational purposes only!!!!!!! Shoulder- Hold weapon on handguards firmly with left hand. Place end digit of index finger lightly on trigger. Pull weapon firmly forward with left hand letting finger dance lightly on trigger. Until you find the sweet spot, you will get a double tap here and there. Too firm, Bang. Too light, Bang. Just right, 1>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>30. Be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Actually, too light a trigger is not good (at least for me). Too light usually trips the hammer too soon and the it will follow the bolt back. The stock OLY triggers are just fine If you watch the video closely, you will see my hand release off the grip. This is indeed bumpfiring. One word-- HOLY SHIT, MAN!!!Ok 3 words, so what? |
www.lifelibertyetc.com/RangeBag.aspx DVDTracker has vids on how to bump AR/AK/SKS/Garand/etc on that link. He shows the easiest method from the hip (most controllable until you get the jist of it). Once you get that down, go with index finger from hip then move it up to your shoulder. Should only take 1 or 2 thousand rounds of practice to outrun a 16. |
