I just got a TA31 and mounted to a ARMS 19S and noticed the screw that secures the scope to the mount extends into the channel at the base of the scope. Should this be? I assume the channel is for sighting through but the screw prevents that.

As long as the screw does not bottom out, you should be all set. Mine do it too, no problems.

The channel is for carry handle use. You cant sight through a flat top mounted scope. Everything is normal.
