First off, is there a ARMS or GGandG mount for putting a compact ACOG on a flat top?

Secondly, are there any disadvantages to doing so? Like not being able to mount back up sights, or no quick detach?

Any info appreciated.

the ARMS #19ACOG works just fine with the compacts, and it's quick-detachable too.

Look for the brand new ARMS #19S ACOG mount from ARMS. It's a shorter, single throw lever mount for ACOGs. It is a great new mount that a lot of people have been waiting for. The only real complaint about the ARMS #19ACOG was it was too big. The #19S ACOG ("S" stands for short) is the answer.

The only disadvantage to mounting the ACOGs to the flat top is that you loose your ability to co-witness the irons. You can mount a back up iron sight, and I highly recomend you do, but in order to use it, the ACOG will have to be removed. That's another good reason to go with the ARMS quick detatch throw lever mount. Easy on, easy off, repeat zero, no worries!

Thanks for the info guys. Just what I was looking for. I figured I wouldn't be able to use irons with the ACOG mounted, but with the quick throw lever I'm not too worried about it.

Just to make sure (that I included enought info in my post), these will work with the carry handle mount ACOGs correct?

yeah there's a channel down 'em like the channel in the carry handle. just make sure you don't get the 'special ring base' mini acog.
