I have seen people mention a "new" model A.R.M.S. #40 on this board.  What's the difference between the "old" one and the "new" one?  Any links to the "new" one?  So I can compare.
Thanks

The only difference is that the "new" ones have a low profile windage knob with an arrow that points in the correct direction to move impact to the right.

Grant...I like it alot.  It really lends alot of flexibility to the rifle.

And "the other new one" is the ARMS #40 with the standard A2 aperture instead of the one that's cut off, like the one in the picture.

How does that white horizon line thingy work?

I have an EOTech 511 on my flattop AR15, the front sight is the standard A2 thing and I have an ARMS#40 mounted as well.  The ARMS #40 works fine, but in reality I really like the EOTech and the iron sights would be used for emergency only.

I have been thinking how much nicer it would be if the front sight tower were out of view, a LOT nicer I think.  There are gas block/sight bases available and then a slip on front sight would ned to be installed before use.  I'm betting the sight would be lost or somewhere else when you need it, so that leave a flip-up front sight as the only realistic option.

Saw a nice one made by Youngs Manufacturing at gunshow this past weekend,  $110 uses front sight post from existing sight.  /this seems like the best option to me so far.  Any opinions?

I think I liked the old style knob better. I like the arrow markings, but the bigger knob was easier to use. Maybe they'll make a retrofit kit.

Lancelot, I will trade you the large knob off my old #40 for the flat one off your new #40.
