Yesterday I picked up my preban lower from my FFL, and my RRA upper + ARMS #40 was delivered by UPS. After putting them together and playing with them for a little while I've noticed when the ARMS #40 is in the up position, it doesn't appear to be entirely vertical. It's canted towards the rear slightly (so A.R.M.S on the side of the sight is at a distinctly odd angle compared to the flat top as the horizontal). There is a little play and I can push the sight forward slightly (accompanied by the spring making spring noise) and then it appears to be much closer to verticaly (A.R.M.S. on the side is almost parallel to the flat-top). Is this kind of play normal?

Thanks.

Perfectly normal.

Mike

ps - it ain't a toy, to be played with it's a sight to look thru,

one of the best IMO.

I swear I recall reading that the sight did this so that if it were dropped or smacked somehow, it is angled to give way and fold down. Same reason the protective ears are shaped the way they are. If that is the case I thought it was pretty cool...

Jack mentioned that several months back.
