Hello everyone, first let me introduce myself real quick, I'm Jose Gabriel Diaz from Puerto Rico, recently got my License to posses different arms ( A process of more than 120 days and it cost more than $300 for the license). Plus the $500 for a G19 Gen4.
I am a US ARMY Combat Veteran 07-8 Operation Iraqi Freedom (SGT) and am very proud to have had the privilege of serving my country, now back to business. I want to build my own AR now, I want it to be a 9mm, in PR there is no such thing as SBR or AR PISTOL, as long as you register your lower you can use any barrel you want. (Mine is a multi cal). Here is the trick part. What do exactly I need??? I already bought the lower receiver is an AERO Precision SPEC 70-75- T6 around 160 bucks, (amazing deal). also ordered the lower part kits including but stock etc. Now to the hard part, what do exactly I need to buy? An Upper 9mm, with a CBG for 9mm a 9mm bolt? or any upper fully converted?, a mag well conversion something like that? and mag release 9mm? Any help would be more than appreciated. I'm looking for this project for an 7.5" to 9" barrel maximum . It does not have to have a lot of pica tiny rails on the side, flat top would be better, Mag well sights will be the ones. What do I need to buy to make this AR15 9mm?? Any links for pieces is more than welcome. PS: Every armory I went today (4 of them) they said the same thing: Wow dude you are going strong with that, I have not heard of anyone wanted to build one of those in years. Wonder why... Thank you all for your help in advance!! JGD |

I had a DDLES lower on order for a while (its a proprietary lower receiver that only accepts glock magazines) and wanted to be able to use my upper. I opted for the cheapest route and picked up A promag adapter block which allows the use of any colt pattern 9mm magazines, I had good luck with C-Products mags
The combo ran flawlessly for me and was one of the cheapest ways to do it was well. A standard 9mm upper will require either the bolt to be modified for a normal hammer (some come this way and are usually noted that they do) or a notched hammer I have no idea how shipping of gun parts to Puerto Rico works but assuming you can purchase off these websites $100 will get you the conversion parts and a few mags to be blasting away. My advice for an upper would be to buy a complete, instead of piecing together stuff yourself. Model 1 Sales offers some great pricing on well built 9mm uppers and there are plenty of options for rails, gas blocks etc. I am a fan of iron sights but on a small build like this I actually prefer a red dot optic on the receiver and no irons or BUIS. Model 1 does not offer a default config option of no front sight and a longer rail (7" would be ideal in my opinion) but if you contacted them I'm sure they would be willing to take care of you |

I will do some research regarding this pro mag 9mm luger mag adapter to see if is worth it. |
