I am not sure if this is the right topic for a light question, but the light is on my AR so here goes. Anyone using a Surefire M910 VFG / Weapon Light? My question is has anyone converted that particular light to an LED head. I did not see one listed at Surefire, but I was hoping there may be another LED option somewhere. Thanks R/ Mike |
| You are looking for the KL9 LED converson head. It is advertised as a 350 Lumen output. I have not seen one as of yet, don' know when Surefire is releasing them. Try brightflashlights |
Yes, PLUS LEDs are far more durable than incandescent lamps. They last 100 times longer and are more resistant to being damaged by shock, etc. Call SF and they can tell what LED to get for an upgrade. |

Thanks everyone. I like the LED light, it is more BLUE and easier to see with. I have replaced my G2 bulbs with LEDs and my Maglight bulbs. I will never own another light that is not LED. I have sent an email to Surefire. I will post whatever response they send me. The advantages I have found are longer battery life, more shock resistant bulb, more lumens, cleaner light, and less heat. More energy is being converted to light than heat. I have only tested this on myself, but it would appear to me that you still get the flinch response when an LED over 60 lumens is shined in your eyes. The down side is the LEDs are pretty expensive, but for a light that will put out that much light for 10-12 hours (G2), I feel it is worth it. Another cool thing I found out about this light is that it made Nitrolon the same stuff as the G2 lights. Light weight and super strong. Also, a big + 1 for BrightFlashlights. I have order from them and they are great. Thanks again. R/ Mike |
Roger that, I'd be interested in replacing both. I'm pretty sure Surefire doesn't offer LED for either. |
There's no ETA on the KL9/KX9 that will fit the M96x/M97x/M98x/M500/M900/M910 systems, the best guess is sometime next year. Hopefully at SHOT Show we'll be able to get some real details, pricing & an actual timely release. |
Well, when they do get them I know where I will get mine..BrightFlashLights.... |
