Hey I'm a new member on this site. I have seen good advice on here before so I thought I would ask a question. Does anybody know of a fairly cheap place to get a decent completed upper receiver with a quadrail and a 16  inch barrel?

Palmetto State Armory has the 16" with Quad Rail complete (minus BCG/Handle) for $449. This is what it looks like....

I guess that depends on what type of quad rail you want. They run anywhere from $35 up to over $200. So that can be a large part of it. You should be able to find an upper for $300-$350 and add a quad rail.

How difficult would it be to install a quadrail? Could you describe the process?

If it is just a drop in then just use the hand guard tool, if it is free floating rails that use the standard barrel nut you would just have to cut off the delta ring, washers, and C clip, then cut the handguard cap off. If it uses it's own special barrel nut, then removal of the barrel and install.

In all honesty any cheap uppers with a quad rail already installed usually go with a cheap china junk rail system. If you're looking for a cheap complete upper, look at JSE surplus as their turnaround isn't too bad compared to others and you can get uppers for under $400 with a BCG and CH included. Then just purchase a quality rail and install.

Would it be cheaper to just buy the parts and install them on my own? And if its cheaper how difficult is it?
