I was watching an episode of "The Century of Warfare"  #26 Gulf Wars and the Future.
For a second this AR was shown.  My old tired brain says IDF?  Im' guessing the clip was around 2000?
Anyone got a guess what kind of AR is in the pic and what kind of muzzle device is on it?

red mags are usually used for blanks - their front is blocked to prevent insertion of full length cartridges.

that likely means the muzzle device is a beanbag, or rubber bullet type launcher for riot control/less lethal

The rifle is a Colt 653 and the magazines are probably for the rubber bullets that the IDF is well known for using against rock-throwers in the WB.

They usually get cut down to 12" for ease of movement within the narrow streets they move around.
