What kind of armorer do you have?  Is he trained for the AR-15?

Standard procedure for this kind of jam is to whack the buttstock on the ground while pulling back on the charging handle simultaneously. (keep your head clear of the muzzle!!!!).

If you have a telestock make sure its fully retracted before attemping this procedure.

Some people say its best to let someone else do this to your rifle as most people won't hit it hard enough on the ground (squeamish factor).  YMMV

PLEASE STOP YELLING!! I don't have my ear plugs in, & it's hard on the eyes tone344. I've know a lot of cops that didn't know squat about many different types of weapons. Darnit, now my ears are ringing. It sounds like he is one of them. I say he ows you some repair cost for your AR though.

Lets just hope he's lots better with Glocks than he is with the AR, 'cause what he did to your rifle is a crime of ignorance...

You might want to chalk it up to 'cost for learning experience' if its going to get you professional issues.

Of course if he's a man of honor then you should only need to print out page 94 of this
http://www.mcdl.org/Manuals/Manuals/AR-15%20Operations/TM9-1005-319-10.pdf (its on Adobe document page # 134)

This is the operator's manual and it shows how to clear that kind of jam.  Every soldier in the Army is taught this procedure - an Armorer should know it.  If he doesn't he shouldn't be fiddling with your rifle, and stick with Glocks.

If hes a good man he'll realize what he did was wrong and offer to pay your bill.

One Caveat:  if the owner (tone 344) said anything even remotely resembling "Sir can you see what you can do to get this out..." then it falls under the Good Samaritan clause.  Generally (and in law in most states) a good faith attempt by a volunteer when requested does not incur liability.
Now, if he were paid to provide service by either the range or the shooter, that's different, and back to the previous scenario of a presented bill along with the relevant page of the -10.

Tone, I think Forest said it best... chalk it up to experience if the individual doesn't feel the need to replace the parts.

Either way, replace the charging handle and ejection port cover, give the -10 a good read and become your own armorer... [;)]

thanks to all who posted appreciate all comments and tips range master made me take weapon of the line and to the armorer procedure at the facility if a live round is jammed no guns can be cleared on the line or in booths to protect other shooters must go in thefire room   were  everything is bullett proofed just chalking it up to learning expierience next time just go in the room myself again thanks

The corrective action for this type malfunction is ridiculously simple.

Just pull back on the charging handle while pressing in on the bolt catch and then push the charging handle forward.  This will then releast the round and let it fall thru the mag well.
