Hey guys I have been a long time lurker but never poasted on hear but here lately I have been strugeling with a queston about the leaglity of building a short bearrled riffle but I live here in the great state of alabama, so thats out of the question so my next thought would build a pistol with about a 10" barrel on it and set it up just like I would like the riffell to look an then put me a stand riffel adjustable stock on it. I know even with class 3 here in Alabama you cant owne a shorty but you still can owne a destructive device, machine gun, or silencer. what are you guys thoughts on this setup.
Thanks in advance Joe |
Yeah, no offense, but you really need spellcheck. You need a team membership to do it on AR15 I think but you could always use any word processing software or even the free Hotmail e-mail service will do it for you. We all mess up once in a while, but all those mistakes are distracting.

Use a new receiver and use the carbine receiver extension tube and leave the stock off, actually give the stock away on the EE. Then you would have a legal clean pistol. I think the fact that it MUST be a pistol receiver needs to be stressed here. A receiver transfered as a rifle CANNOT be made into a pistol AR! |

If you want though you can purchase a stock and 16" barrel for your pistol lower and turn it into a rifle, the stampings on the lower don't really mean anything. Its how the lower is transfered. Pistol and Rifle AR lowers are identical, but if its transfered as one or the other it must stay that way. |
