If you could buy 1 lower no matter price, what lower would it be?

Quality forged lowers are pretty much all the same, except for collector retro builds and custom jobs like MGI removeable magwell lowers, so price would never be a non issue to me.

Sadly, how true.

Sun Devil. I found one at the funshow Saturday, but since I'd already bought a Doublestar, I had to pass. Love the one I already have, though.

I'd really like a LaRue billet lower personally.

Stripped DPMS lowers here in southern va are going for $130.  if your looking to start something and build piece by piece, its a good start.

Where in Southern VA?

Yes...Where?

I don't have the money to do it anyways. I need to build up the ones I have first

And to the OP, go billet if you want to spend some dough.

That's what I was thinking.  Heck it wouldn't have to be a Colt as long as it was a transferable full auto lower.

+1

I just got mine. Love it. Work of art, with very tight tolerances. I will be putting up some pix soon.

FWIW - I screwed up and installed the bolt catch plunger by forcing it in (big mistake, it was out of spec and should have freely slid in), and rather than risk me drilling it out and hurting my lower, Glen Seekins is doing it for me, free of charge. Talk about service. I also have his rings and bases on my long range .308 rifle, he does great work at a good price: Seekins Website

Well well well you have all surprised me. I am astonished that no one has the balls to suggest and its obvious that the RR lower has got to be the best out there. You have just got to ask the RR sycophants  and they will tell you they are the best of the best. But then we know that not to be true so the best lower is the one that will fit your upper, with finish and logo that you like, as they say its your money and we do live in a free society but thats another sore point to some so I am not even going to go there. So get what you like and enjoy the build and feel proud of what you have achieved.

Probably something with a flared MagWell, and the HK style bullet symbols for the safety.

If it really mattered much to me, it would be LRB for the cool roll mark, otherwise a Sun Devil or a Sabre.

I'm new to lowers, but I handled a POF the other day that struck me as incredibly well done.  It reminded me of HK firearms.  Crisp corners, even finish, and clean roll marks.

I gotta go with LaRue,,, in fact, I'm waiting on one.

Close second would be a magpul lower, if I didn't have to buy the noveske to get it, that is.

I'd have to go with a lightly modified TI billet.  Preferably with an RDIAS.
